Exploring the Latest Projects: What I'm Working on Right Now
I have so many different projects going on right now that I need some time to reflect on what I'm doing, so I thought it could be a good idea to put this in my next blog post. Here I am, sharing the chaos that reigns in my studio right now.
I'm quite proud of the mess because it means that I'm creating something. I just need to make a to-do list and stick to it; that is easier said than done.

This picture of the desk says a lot about how many different stages the creation of a doll is made of, from the messy, dusty part that involves the sculpting process, to the quiet waiting of my most recent porcelain BJD, Victoria, on the windowsill. The poor girl desperately needs a dress and a wig, but I'm waiting for a big order of mohair to arrive from Poland, and I want to make her wig first before deciding what colors to use for the dress.
Could I have waited patiently for the shipping to arrive? Absolutely, but where's the fun in that :D
I chose to take on the challenge of creating a completely new doll from the beginning, and now I'm juggling two significant projects.
Now let's take a look at this new doll:
This puffy little thing won't be little at all. It has a head circumference of 10 inches and has 18 mm eyes and will be about 12 inches tall, and I'm working to make it the sweetest chubby potato it can be.
By the preliminary sketch and chubby legs I guess you can tell what I'm aiming for.
For this little one, I chose the name Kedi. My parents told me it was the name of my imaginary friend when I was a little kid.
I don't know why it popped in my mind few days ago, but then I started reading about how common it is for little kids to have an imaginary friend, and how happens in little girls with a fervid imagination and a propensity for creativity and arts.
So I thought, if Kedi has anything to do with the fact that I became a doll artist, it surely deserve a doll that would represent it!
I don't know yet when this doll will be released, I would love to have at least a couple of sample to present at BJDC Texas late June, but all depends on how committed I'll stay to this project, I also have to work on the dolls for the show that are coming from the Factory, big news there too, but I will post more about that in the future.
Meanwhile you have a happy wonderful day out there and see you next week :)
