I started planning for this doll after the BJDC convention, last summer.
I had a vision about a little dolls that I could design using 3d sculpting programs, after some research I decided to go with Nomad sculpt, is very intuitive and has plenty of tutorials and resources online so with a bit of practice I figured out most of the steps in a reasonable amount of time.

Learning something new is always exciting and fun, keeps your brain young and busy and in this case revitalized my passion and inspiration for doll making.
I was myself skeptical of this form of creativity, thinking that sculpting virtually would have make me feel like I was doing something “wrong “.
The 3d program is like a box of pencils or a scalpel and marble or whatever material an artist feel to express themselves, is just a tool. The art that comes out is still a very unique creations that come from a creative mind.

What is different is the possibility of create multiple version of my idea, being able to make adjustments and changes but still be able to come back to the previous version if necessary, that’s valuable perk for a sculptor. Especially when it comes to BJD dolls.
It was a process of trials and error but the satisfaction of seeing the pieces fit perfectly and come out exactly as I have envisioned was priceless.

Froggy is just the first and I’m working on new dolls, new bodies, new ideas. I have few announcements that are very exciting but I can’t share yet, stay tuned because there’s a lot in the future of Linda Macario dolls 😉
Froggy is available and in stock, check out the shop and feel free to contact me for any questions.
